Re: Bute and Devil's Claw
Thank you again for all the help and encouragement!
I stopped isoxuprine following Dr. Kellon's recommendation and figured out a way to feed the double dose of PQ so he's been getting 4 scoops a day

Re: Fat and Insulin Resistance
Hi Maria
I think the problem is that the safety of high fat feeding has not been studied. The ECIR recommendation for 4% fat or less in the diet comes from analysis of the equine's evolutionary diet.

Just my 2 cent opinion but any farrier who can 'trim' a horse in 10 minutes isn't going to be doing anything close to a good job.
Thanks,

Lavinia, thank you so much. I see I do need to take some toe off on the under side as well as the top. I will work on this after he leaves Saturday. As you can see from the last hoof pictures I took

Hi Janet,

Thank you. I do not know what "broken back angles" are. How can I recognize them? Isn't some of that toe the laminar wedge? Trimmer coming Saturday. As I mentioned before he is adamant about doing it

Hi Lara,
I’m not sure there’s a simple answer to your question about ‘how long’. Many of the PPID symptoms I noted were only in retrospect. I increased for one reason and noted improvement
