Hi Mary, We don't use NSC at all any more, for any substance. It is an outdated term and measurement. The 8.7% is just the starch amount in the Senior (as tested), to which you need to add the ESC.

Kirsten Can you tell me why you use NSC for feeds but not for hay? Triple Crown gives the ESC + starch numbers for their feeds. The Senior, Senior Gold & the Lite are all less than 10% ESC + starch.
