Hello everyone!
I have done a preliminary search, but found nothing extremely relevant at this time.
My just turned 18 year old gelding is both EMS & PPID and I just went outside to give him a cold

Hi Erin,
I think stress must be a huge factor in inducing ulcers as performance horses have higher rates. Even without the performance/trailering/etc aspects, exercise itself is a form of stress.

Re: Need assistance with trimming hooves and BCS
I think Sherry and Lavinia answered your questions for me. I don't use NSC. I was only making the point that if NSC is below 10%, then we know ESC+starch must be below 10%. That is true for hay,

Hang in there, Terrie. You have not let Dixie down. In fact, you are going above and beyond what most owners will do.
It seems to me that things were on the upswing on Ertugliflozin, after you

Re: Need assistance with trimming hooves and BCS
Hi Mary,
We don't use NSC at all any more, for any substance. It is an outdated term and measurement.
The 8.7% is just the starch amount in the Senior (as tested), to which you need to add the ESC.

I was actually asking why use NSC for one substance and ESC & starch for another?
I don’t like the starch being that high in the Lite feed either. I dont promote using it.
Hmmm… 8.7% in

Hi Erin,
For a horse the change in weight for each number on the Henneke scale is about 40-50lbs but it varies. If you haven't already looked at our chart please do check it: Body Condition Scoring
