Kelly, I feel for you. Indy has had a couple of corneal ulcers this year. Both healed with a similar treatment plan as your vet’s, one had a rub with a swab, one not. I was very worried about

To my eye she looks to be at a perfect weight right now. You can start to mix in the 7 - 7.5 hay but I would be hesitant to do the higher one unsoaked since she's apparently pretty sensitive. Hay

How much metformin do you have? Any refills on the prescription? Give him as much as you can, divided into twice a day, to last the 10 days until your vet is back. Your insulin is indeed high, but

More on FFW and pergolide from Dr Kellon:
Psyllium husk also helps with FFW.
As for oil, olive oil is very strongly flavoured and unpalatable. Try canola or grapeseed oil.

Some horses, mine included, get free fecal water (wet farts and softer stools) on pergolide. Every time I increase the dose it worsens. My low sugar hay is also not particularly digestible this

I have a pony which has issues with fecal water syndrome. It seems to be totally diet related for him and I suspect most horses. Being a PPID guy and older, he doesn’t have the chewing
