Re: Vitamin E
Niki,
If the other ponies are being managed the same way this suggests your other pony has a higher requirement for some reason. Increase his dose.

I don't know the chemical explanation for the lathering but it is very consistent in my experience. Areas that are inflamed will foam when you rub in the Sore No More and this subsides as it quiets

Re: 18yr old Morgan mare
Stephanie,
We don't recommend forcing exercise but if the horse walks along willingly and is not lame there's no problem. Better to get her completely off the bute.

Hi, Niki. This is a perfect discussion for the EC Horsekeeping group. I'll be happy to reply there and describe my experience with a similar situation.

Re: Mad Barn individually packaged ingredient question
Cass is correct. It's not so much the level of sugar or starch as how much of it you are feeding. 4 grams is going to be less than a teaspoon. That's not an issue.

Re: Hydration for recumbent horse (was Re: [ECIR] Solar Penetration)
Nicole,
The #1 priority of our protocol is to get a diagnosis of what is causing this. You don't have that yet. Given the situation, I agree with going with IV tetracycline then oral doxycycline.

I use Sore No More a lot and have noticed the lathering too when an issue is developing - does it mean inflamation? What is the chemical reaction that cause the lathering?

Hi Lori,
The combination of wet chem and NIR means that the carbohydrates are measured with NIR and the minerals with wet chem. If they still have the sample, you can ask them to rerun just the carbs

Re: Xrays and trim photos
Dr. Kellon and Kirsten, I have labeled them all with the YYYY-MM-DD, labeled the views, sorted by the correct sorting tab within the WIKI, and they are still out of order. Not sure how to fix that.

Thanks for additional info. I'm trying my best to learn but I don't always sleep well and feel in a fog some days so I miss things.
I'm fortunate that at least up till now, my vet's always
