Help please, recent and first laminitis
Hi wise members,
I have a 13 year old Lipi gelding who is experiencing his first (and hopefully last) laminitis.
I had thought I was doing everything right :(
Teddy has been off pasture since October

Pound of Jiagulan to give away
I bought a pound of jiaogulan hoping it might help Mica grow hoof wall and sole back quicker after trimmer severely carved into her soles. Sadly nothing I did for her helped and she went downhill

arginine
Hi,
After reading everything I can find on the forum about arginine, I am unclear if we support supplementing it to increase blood flow to the hoof.
Do we have a consensus on it?
Thanks so very

Rozanne, I’m interested in the cats claw question too as one of the few liquid devils claw extracts we can get here comes with cats claw. The horse I’d like to give this to is a fussy eater and

You can do a search of the message archives but here's one email to get you started: Re: Use of curcumine (groups.io)
As far as Cat's Claw: Re: turmeric use ? (groups.io) is one to get you started.

I am also confused as to what “pure aloe vera, not like a drink” means.
I have purchased the aloe leaves at the health food store, and offered the horses some of the scraped gel, and they said

Re: Winter grazing
Hi Gail
I am not aware of differences. It is standing hay. At a minimum, I would clip some and have it tested.

Re: adipose tissue hormones question
Cliff Notes version:
Leptin is normally the hormone that shuts off appetite. However, when levels are elevated for a prolonged period, as they are in overweight horses, leptin resistance develops.

Re: Dr. Kellon Flytes latest labs.
You can increase the Prascend through the rise but I wouldn't increase the Invokana. Alcar dose is fine. Good to increase his exercise but make sure he has free choice hay and as much soy hull/beet

I just want to mention here that brown fat or brown-like (brite) fat has not been identified in horses. There are so many differences between humans/mice and horses in metabolism, diet, digestive
