Re: Falki's Recent Hoof Pics - Nov 2022
HI Connie,
Glad to hear Falki is doing well.
It's always amazing how much the photos help make clear what is happening. You're correct that the trim has gotten away from you: feet have run forward

I agree with your trim assessment but wonderful that he's feeling that well! Is he getting a mineral mix now? His coat looks bleached in that October photo.

The directions I've seen for the amount of hay to feed is based on 1.5% of current weight or 2% of ideal weight, whichever is higher. How does one determine the numerical value of the ideal weight?

General Blood Chemistry done in August was all within normal limits. My vet, who I'm in touch with very frequently due to Dutch's frequent flyer status, has done all the reasonable blood work

Re: Lack Of Immunity in Well Controlled PPID Horse
I recently tried to update his case history and flubbed up the upload. I'll try again soon. His ACTH 8/22 was 3.9 within a range of 1.9 to 9. His ACTH has been within that range for more than 3 years.

Thank you Bobbie and Dr. Kellon. I'm working on the case study and getting rads and photos uploaded but it will take me a few days.
I did want to address one key point, everything Crimsons eats needs

Hi Lori
You may have already heard that alfalfa can be a problem for our metabolic equines, even with low ESC and starch.
You don't need to worry about NSC, just the ESC and Starch which as you have

Sorry about empty post. That's what happens when I try to reply with my phone. I just wanted to ask if you can give sufficient exercise during your Rhode Island winter. Maybe keep her where she is
