If she is sassy and eating well then maybe the PEA is working and a nerve block would not add materially to her comfort. If she is just standing
around with her head hanging low and has no interest in

Re: Hormonal cycles in mares and insulin
I concur with Anthie. Prior to starting Summer on estradiol, as per Dr K,s recommended approach we tried to do a hormone panel last year with BET and were told they no longer do FSH and LH.
Thanks

Re: Hormonal cycles in mares and insulin
Are you sure? BET’s current website lists all those labs. Two of them, LH and FSH, are listed under the TB Stallion hormonal levels on the Lab Normals page. https://betlabs.com/equine-protocols/

Re: Hormonal cycles in mares and insulin
Yes I have read that and the information in it is out of date given there are no labs that run that test in the United States. I have contacted BET labs, Cornell, and UC Davis.

Hear ya on the discouraging news - been there, as have too many other people.
If you would like a new set of mark-ups for the new farrier, just send me a note privately to arrange it.

Re: Hormonal cycles in mares and insulin
If you manage to get any good information about this topic I would love to hear about it. I was never able to find a lab to run LH and FSH, but I have now tested my mare three times on her

Thank you Lavinia. He is to be trimmed by a new farrier soon, so I will pass your advice on to him. To be honest, this is discouraging news.

Hi Aunna
It looks like the hinds may have a slightly better HPA but in general, all the heels are really underrun and the toes have run forward - esp. on the fronts. Because the RF is the most upright

Re: long toes; maybe lavinia
Hi Daisy,
Agree with everything that both Nancy and Sherry have already mentioned.
The white line isn't a static structure - it's a seam that stretches forward, along with the toes. If you only pay

Re: Supplement Review for Stormy
Hi Brenda,
I spent some time trying to understand Stormy’s ACTH testing results, without too much luck. Since Stormy is not on pergolide, I think it would be wise to do the TRH stim test again next

Re: long toes; maybe lavinia
Hi Daisy,
As we've previously discussed, without current pictures at the very least, we can't comment on Tiko's trim. Most farriers IME will not go as short as the horses need to be unless directed

Re: Supplement Review for Stormy
Hi Brenda,
That's a weird coincidence! Both names are very common in Denmark though, so I know there's lots of us out there.
It's hard to believe Stormy's ACTH is lower this spring than it was last
