My friend treated her mare at 5000IU for months to get her up to 300. I think a lot depends on the horse though.

Please be aware that using straw as a substitute for hay isn't recommended unless you have tested the straw and are sure that the ESC+starch is under 10%. If needed you can add a muzzle

I checked Vitamin E levels for both Cayuse and Diamond. Cayuse, IR/PPID, Invokana test subject, had mid-levels Vitamin E in serum (547 ug/dl, range 200-1000 ud/dl) using 5000 IU powdered d alpha
