maintenance of a weight of about 900 lbs at maintenance for hays cut
at midbloom. There can be a 10 to 15% calorie

I can't swear this will work, but it may help... after you soak/ice
his feet, pat them dry with a towel and THEN put hoof oil on...

Um, when you took him off grain, did you increase the alfalfa? If
so, and he's overweight, its time to cut back on the alfalfa! ;0)

Ok, now what do I do?
I removed him from any grain whatsoever!! and all he gets now is
1 1/2lbs of timothy/alfalfa cubes 2x a day along with 15lbs of
timothy/orchard/alfalfa hay. NO grass

It never ceases to amaze me to what lengths horse people will go to for their horsie friends...ie: giving up vacation for horse meds, eating Kraft dinner day in and out... so horse can get all
