Just a little update, Vinnie is continuing to improve. He is still sore over the medial left when he turns in his stall, this has always been the last part to improve. Knock wood he will be back to

It looks to me that Kody's is well on his way to healing. He is probably going to have some abscesses mobilizing as he moves around more, and maybe even slough his sole once the new sole has grown

Yes, I would continue the metformin but be sure to retest insulin 30 days after starting it. If still below the threshold for acute laminitis (around 80 uIU/mL), stick with metformin but retest
