Re: Stress from Move Precipitating PPID/IR/Laminitis??
Thanks again, Dr. Kellon.
I just went out to check on the animals, and I found a new issue with Audi. Now he has a sizable swelling over his mouth. I looked & felt around as best as I could but

Hi Cass,
The tests were done through Equi-Analytical/Dairy One, but I don't know if they were wet chem vs. NIR. I would guess the latter.

Re: Vinnie back on Equioxx
I like Boiron, but there are other brands.
I like to rub it in well.
You can also buy Arnica pellets for internal use.I keep them in my pants pocket.

Dr. Kellon, when you mention the radiographs confirming no evidence of laminitis, are you referring to P3 rotation?

Re: Stress from Move Precipitating PPID/IR/Laminitis??
Thanks again, Dr. Kellon. I can get more hoof photos. Which ones would you like to see?
Is it possible to have laminitis secondary to PPID and without the IR component? I agree that he doesn’t

Hi, Susan. Are those analyses of the ESC, starch, protein and ADF/NDF by NIR or by wet chemistry? 12.8% protein doesn't concern me as much as NIR analysis of 8.2% ESC. I had a bad experience relying

No NSAID, topical or not, should be used regularly. If they are on chronic firocoxib as I think you said, it shouldn't be used at all.

LJ,
The directions for Surpass are:
Dosage: Apply a five-inch (5") ribbon of Surpass topical cream twice daily over the affected joint for up to ten days.
Neither the human nor the horse version

Re: Stress from Move Precipitating PPID/IR/Laminitis??
Need blood work to tell for sure but he doesn't have any outward signs of IR. Hoof photos next would be great.
He has lost 100+ pounds It could be PPID but also wondering about other possible factors.
