Re: Best ways to get more weight off/exercise 12H PPID/IR pony receiving from founder?
Hi Ann,
The crest still being hard is an indication that her diet needs to be tightened up so you may see a better result now that you're weighing her hay on a daily basis. Have you put a weight tape

I forgot to include: her crest is softening but is still firmer in the middle of her neck than I'd like. Her hair is so long it's hard to get a great sense for rib fat, but by my estimate I think

Re: Prascend administration - strategies- archives?
Many horses reject Prascend, which is another reason many of us ask our vets to prescribe compounded pergolide with flavoring like apple and molasses.

Hi Trisha,
For the horses that won't eat it the easiest thing to do is put it in a 3cc syringe with some warm water to dissolve and then just dose them with it. IMO it's too important (and expensive)

Ani is the one I have set up on this site. I had blood work done on all 3 of my Hanoverian mares because of my concerns about founder in the other 2. All of them are positive PPID and on pergolide.
