Re: Question about hoof boots
I just got some Scoot Boots... first pair and am I glad I started with those. No rubbing, gaitors and shims to help with the fit after a fresh trim and the folks over in Australia are incredibly nice

You can read the last exchange on this here: https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/topic/84200856#279165
Short answer - if they're ever in widespread use you'll still need to have the vet out to pull blood

Re: How to get Pergolide prescribed w/o or low ACTH results
You should have the exact same conversation with your vet. I would test at least once though. It will give you a baseline for evaluating dosage.

How to get Pergolide prescribed w/o or low ACTH results
I would like to know if anyone has had success to get pergolide / prascend prescribed without a positive ACTH test ?
I had 3 negative tests for an ols loan pony even though all the symproms were there

Re: Growth on heel bulbs plus turnout question
To me that looks like an abscess about to blow out the coronary band. If it's not tender it could just be inflammation from a rub. Were the boots fitted with shoes on? If not the addition of shoes

Re: Shedding
Hi Sherry,
That is what we are doing, but we are looking at monthly/every other month for clippings. It seems like that’s a lot, but I’m not sure. 🤷🏼♀️

Also, Nancy, my biggest fear is sinking, or distal descent. Would you be worried about that from the boots not fitting? That’s my biggest concern. His rotation wasn’t too bad in the x rays but

Re: Growth on heel bulbs plus turnout question
Sorry I didn’t realize I didn’t mention any kind of trigger but I’m pretty sure drought ridden pasture triggered it. I didn’t even know dead grass could be really high in starch until lately.

If needed you may just need to clip multiple times a year.
