If you get mark ups from Lavinia your trimmer can measure and get actual numbers but as an estimate the length of the hoof wall needs to be reduced by 25%, breakover on bottom of the hoof moved back

Thanks for the tip on the insulin. I will make sure that we have outside temperature recorded when he comes Tuesday. I am in the process of looking for those shipping boots locally. Haven't found them

ACTH normally goes up with pregnancy. Without experience in what to expect when on pergolide, I wouldn't be aggressive about pergolide. You vet can call Rood and Riddle in Ky for guidance.

Janet, I add much of my salt to the hay. Some may not stick but what doesn’t falls into a dish which gets licked clean. If the hay is wet, I use dry salt; if not I pour it on as a solution in

Re: Poor Hair Coat
Some horses have an exaggerated reaction to pergolide and get a thin coat. I don't know if it would help but you could try adding Vitex. Try 2 scoops twice daily

Re: Pergolide Dosage Forms
You can do a search of the messages for "pergolide in oil" but I believe most people syringe it. As always, by putting it in food you're risking it not getting into the horse.
Thanks,
