Re: varience in compounding pharmacies?
Hi Ernie,
I didn't realize they were reluctant to do so. I'm in Canada so sharing my price wouldn't be helpful.
But I should say, too, that a pharmacy *may* charge a different price for 12mg

Hi Lorna,
Why are people in the ECIR group reluctant to say what they are paying for compounded pergolide? Thriving Pets was the only compounder that posted prices on their website, the others

Re: Question from Laura and Wisper - Jack
No, nothing has changed. It's still possible to elevate ACTH out of the normal zone by a stress reaction - just not into the thousands range.

From this file, it states stress and exercise influence insulin and glucose. i understand that stress would never cause such an elevated ACTH as seen on Jack, so he is extremely uncontrolled. We plan

Re: Question from Laura and Wisper - Jack
Wait! What? Has the recommendation for "quiet barn, don't haul the horse to the clinic" etc., here changed recently and I missed it? Or is it the insulin/glucose result that is skewed by agitation?

Re: Question from Laura and Wisper - Jack
A 2015 study looked at the effect of stress during blood draws on ACTH and basically found none. You won't see ACTH above 120 to 130 under any circumstance in a horse without PPID.

Low Manganese Hay
Hi - I've come across my first hay analysis with low manganese. It came in at .13%, .59mg/lb. RDI for this horse (severe IR) is 376. The total from the diet is 199mg. Fe:C:Z:Mn is 6: 1: 2.7:
