Ok, thanks Dr Kellon. I won't worry about the urea because all the other parts were normal from that bloodtest. Have started the 855 pony on 1/4mg for 4 days etc, and also increasing Ziggy to 1.5mg by

The 855 just confirms he is a PPID horse. Agree it's time to start treatment.

Re: Serum Amyloid A
Not surprising it would be elevated with a fever. You need to concentrate on what caused the fever, same as with any other horse. It's not necessarily related to PPID/IR.

Re: Sprite's hay analysis
Hi Edie,
I sure do know what a relief it is to not have to soak hay anymore! Here's an example of the smhn's I referred to: http://www.chicksaddlery.com/page/CDS/PROD/SF1025 They have 2" openings.

Dr. Kellon and everyone,
I have gradually adjusted Stormy's pergolide dose to 12 mgs am and 12 mgs pm. (She WAS getting 45 mgs once a day.) I have had her on the 12 mgs 2x a day for a week now, and

Hi, Beverly - Pergolide is dosed to response, not by the body weight of the horse or pony. I absolutely feel that 1 mg is a minimum; there are many small ponies and minis on this list that require 2

Re: How far and how fast to increase pergolide
Hi Jaini,
Ginger is 450 pounds. ACTH was 20 in June on .25. Do you still feel 1
mg is a minimum?
I doubled her Evitex starting today. Forgot to put that in her update,
so that may change things
