I use the balance cubes. I am trying to learn/figure out feed tags, when looking at commercial feeds. So, the total diet hay and grain can't exceed 10%, in sugar + starch, like Chanda

Hi Carla
Need to clarify that each item needs to have low Sugar (ESC) and Starch. It's not a total combination of the diet but each individual item.
Most of the big commercial companies are not low

The whole diet should not exceed 10%, so yes hay and grain combined should not exceed 10%.

We may be the Land of Lincoln but we're also the Land of High Fe! I always expect 250-300 on the Fe. With the dang weather, this hay could get a lot of its Fe from dirt too.

How much could one do themselves in all? How about a used small centrifuge
and drawing the blood themselves? I know people do their own fecal
parasite counts so why not the blood draws and spin
