Re: Laminitis Spike
Are you soaking his feet? His history doesn't mention metformin. Have you tried that? It's inexpensive and readily available at any pharmacy. All your vet has to do is call it in. He needs 3000 mg

Re: Osteo-Max for PPID horse?
I don’t have any of my Cushings horses on it but I use both GutX and Osteo Max for my RER diagnosed Standardbred mare. I LOVE it! I’m anxious to hear other responses because I wouldn’t

Will Ukele's GUT be enough to be protective/curative? or need the aloe juice too? Thanks.

Dr. Kellon,
That last-mentioned PubMed research article referred to aloe vera and sucralfate together that had positive results against ulcers in rats. For a horse diagnosed with stomach ulcers, then

Hello Dana
Welcome to the group!
Dr Kellon has replied on your breathing question. Regarding the Cushings/PPID, we recommend to keep the ACTH in the mid to lower end of the lab's reference range

Re: New member
Dana,
The Cushings/PPID won't affect his breathing as far as we know. The surgery should take care of that. For his PPID you need pergolide before he gets into trouble with laminitis.
