Re: Absesses coming out above coronary band about 1/2 to 3/4 inchs
We've had some good experience with VoxamineEq for inflammation (am not suggesting it for abscess). Takes the place of bute, and takes a few days to totally get on

SAFE CHOICE NUMBERS
I got an email today from Cargill Nutrition from the Equine Specialist and was told that SAFE CHOICE has 21% NSC.
17% starch and 4% sugar.
YIKES!
I would AVOID this for metabolic horses.
Scary that

Re: Elevated blood potassium - what does it mean?
At Susan B's suggestion, I am posting the following values from Tonka's (lengthy) blood test:
RBC: 7.14 (range 6.9-12.9) (sorry I can't read the unit measurement)
HCT: 32.13% (range 32-53)

Thought I would let all the fellow Aunties and Uncles (Don) know that we did the blood draw for Tilly today to start the IRAP procedure. They will process it today and she will get her first series

Please could I have some advice? I have posted a few times recently but haven't always got an answer.
I am still trying to get Mattys ACTH under control after nearly 12 months of testing/increasing,

Katie,
Would you post the results of the blood work, lab values and norms, please.
Elevated potassium could simply be the blood hemolyzed... you know the drill-more information

Re: more questions and confusions
Looks like you've gotten most of your answers Laurie.
I use a fine mesh laundry bag (for washing delicates) to rinse and soak my beet pulp in.
A fish scale is an easy way to weigh the amount of hay
