Re: Baby is worsening
I have increased her Prascend to 2 mg /day by syringe. I am positive she is getting it. I don't feel comfortable increasing the metformin until she gets the vet visit on Monday. The xrays were taken

I believe the vet sends the prescription to them, but they can ship directly to you.
If I had the resources I'd test insulin and glucose at every opportunity....so it's up to you I think. If you want

Hi Jan,
As long as Baby is in pain, soak her hay. 8% ESC+starch is safe for some horses, but not others. And if she's in acute laminitis you want to do all you can to lower the sugar and starch

Based on the earlier feed back, I added all of the pictures

Re: New hay sample high Iron
Tara,
I am offering my opinions about "High Iron" hay. In my experience a large % of iron is actually on the outer surface of the hay. High iron in hay probably means high iron soil. When rain falls

Re: Alphie Invokana update and urine collection method question
Hi Betty,
Many horses avoid peeing on hard surfaces. It may make life easier for both of you if his mats have shavings on them to soak up the urine.Shavings make lying down more comfortable, too.

Re: New hay sample high Iron
Tara,
With ACTH that high, creeping up isn't likely to get the job done. I'd bump it up 2 mg and if that doesn't work consider cabergoline. Putting him on Jiaogulan won't break the bank and may help

You must have me confused with someone because I've never tested urine with a glucose strip! But maybe I suggested trying the puddle, I don't remember... :)
