Re: Soy Hull Flakes
Hey!
So I have used these in the past for my guys to boost protein and as a supp carrier. I think you have to watch the amount you add so you don’t overdo protein but hopefully someone can comment

For everybody who's asking - Triple Crown Naturals Timothy Balance Cubes are the only ones we recommend in the US because each batch is balanced and is guaranteed to be below our 10% ESC+starch

Hi Marlene,
I'm seeing 13.7% protein on your hay test as well. Where are you getting the 9.4% number from?
Thanks,

Hi Marlene, I was referring to the hay analysis in your case history, are feeding a different hay? It looked like your hay had a crude protein reading of 13.7 on the one I saw. I could have read it

From my understanding regular Timothy pellets have too much sugar for an IR horse. My guy is IR and extremely sensitive to the sugar+starch. The details sheet on Triple Crown Naturals

Re: WAS When Is It Time - NOW Hoof Pads
Thank you again. I had totally forgotten about the Easy Care Comfort Pads. I bought them once, (quite a long time ago) and had a pretty difficult time cutting them, and they did seem to smash down

I use the heated 5 gallon water buckets all winter for keeping wet feeds from freezing. The heated buckets are supposed to shut off if they go above a certain temp but I don't like to test that.

Our local store was also out. I had to drive 100 miles to find another store that had them (in the new packaging now). In the meantime, I fed soaked timothy pellets and added beet pulp pellets.

Deb, a good pair of sewing scissors will cut felt, and I’ve always just used kitchen scissors on the EVA pads. Tin snips are useful for modifying boots.
Some horses like the pads to pack down to

Re: Distillers grain and yeast cultures
Not for safety, but for palatability limit the yeast to a tablespoon, the grains a cup.
I would ask the manufacturer your bucket question.
