You're right ~ people are confusing NFC (nonstructual fiberous carbs) with the old NSC. We used to pay attention to the NFC if it was 50% higher than the NSC. Not so much anymore. You

I don't know of any studies specifically, but I've read of concerns of worms getting immune to dewormers. There seems to be more anxiety about daily dewormers causing immunity than about rotation
