How to get them to eat added salt? A little success....
I use an axe (carefully) and whack off pieces of salt from my salt block. I take them and throw them in the water tank. It is a 100 gallon tank for 3 horses (with a heater).

In my herd of 7 geldings, there are 3 with Cushings.Those 3 are the only
ones shedding.

pick up any side effects...lethargy,loss of appetite,for example.
