I use alfa tec timothy alfalfa hay cubes! Analysis for IR horses for esc and starch less than 8 percent. Was a bit nervous re the alfalfa but at 1 pound a day dry to soaked it has not been an issue. S

My horse would NOT eat the amino trace. She could sniff out even a couple of pellets. I tried and tried. She will take the Omeity p from Mad Barn though.

excess protein and insulin resistance
Apologies on my post re the magnesium lowering the protein and or insulin. I had my chemistry wrong. The recommended addition of the magnesium was to off set the higher amount of potassium in the hay.
