U-Gard Solution and Suplements
I've had good luck with the U Gard powder. It contains a lot of kaolin and I think that's what's doing the heavy lifting. It makes a slimey coating when wet. The pellets contain less, and I'm not sure

Beware of pelleted feed
I'm so sorry, Kris. Sometimes all we can do just isn't enough. 😔 Thanks for the info on the feed; I feed LMF as well. Were you feeding the California Complete or the Low NSC Complete (neon green bag)?

Words of encouragement
Hi Erica, Where in CA are you located? It's a bit of a longshot but I've been working to coordinate a dental specialist appointment for Buster and may have someone lined up which will be in Coto de Ca

Safety of Equident mushroom supplement for IR/Cushing's horse?
Thanks for the input, Sherry and Dr. Kellon. If he does have EORTH it seems early and not painful, so I'm hoping to find a way to prevent progression and avoid extractions. Glad to hear this should be

High sodium in hay
Yep, sounds like a typo. Either that's a period instead of a comma, or mg instead of g. But glad your hay is good to go!

High sodium in hay
I think you need to double check your math. There are only 454 grams in a pound, so even if your hay was literally just a pile of salt, your numbers aren't possible. ;) By my math, your hay has 1.2 gr

Where was the puncture and how deep was it? That would guide how worried I would be regarding what structures may have been impacted. Honestly your vet's advice sounds sloppy. Maybe give some antibiot

Concerns over feeding Hygain Zero?
Thanks everyone. That makes me feel better. My concern came after seeing messages saying things like "safe to feed in small quantities as a carrier", etc, since I'm thinking of switching half or more

Stepped on a nail!
You are right to contact your vet. The nail injury could be minor or very major depending on where it penetrated (e.g. sole vs into the coffin bone or joint). Generally it is advised to leave the nail

There are automatic feeders available for hay. Perhaps you could invest in something like that, to spread her feedings out across more times of the day? Have you tried giving her a treat dispensing to
