Things are going well with Darcy as she transitions to her new dry lot and diet. I'm going to be doing hay testing soon, but Darcy is not too pleased with the plain beet pulp, and I'd like to make sure she's getting all her supplements in, so I'm trying to find ODTBC to add to the mix.

Looks like I'll have to special order the Balance Cubes though. Does anyone know their shelf life?

Hi Jennifer, You could call Aurelio at Ontario Dehy to ask, but from my own experience, as long as they are not piled on a cement floor and are kept dry, I think 1 yr at least. There was a discussion on baled hay awhile back, with the consensus that properly stored hay was good at least for a yr. Of course vit E diminishes greatly, but we supplement that anyway. The minerals for the most part are pretty stable. I also read that dry bp (there's some in ODTBCs) is stable for a good long time. I bought a bunch of ODTBCs Nov. 2011 before surgery and I just ran out this Nov. and they still smelled good. I could tell the difference between the old and new bags, but the older was just a little paler color, still smelled "clean", not musty.

Shelf life a very long time per Ontario Dehy. (Over a year as long as kept properly.Remember anyplace that carries triple crown can get you the cubes usually.
