Thanks Leanne,

I feel a bit of a fraud really because after reading the files and doing quite a bit of research little Bella seems to be doing ok even though she isn't on a particularly special diet, I do soak things but not her hay because we really just don't have enough water, live on rain water.  She was doing fine even on a small amount of oaten hay but I wanted to change so she could have more.  I read that rye grass is bad for laminitic horses but she seems to be ok, not pain or pulse, I'm not giving her heaps though.

Her main issue is her feet and now they are being trimmed regularly and are a better length although not perfect yet, she is walking mostly normal. She has had a lot of massage/equissage/stretching to release her muscles as well.

It will be interesting to see what happens once the rains come (hopefully soon) and we get some grass again, but we will deal with that when it happens, still better than her being on kyke and couch grasses.

Hi Sonia,
Glad to hear Bella is doing ok. Rani foundered for the first and last time 6 years ago I too am very vigilant with her trims and she only has meadow hay and heaps of it all soaked. She also has maxi soy etc and her supplements. As we live in sandy Wanneroo even her mini companion gets the same not the same amount of course. Just be very careful with the amount of grazing she has when the rains finally comes and you get some grass. Good luck.

Thanks Leanne,
I have a muzzle at post office waiting for me to pick it up today. I've also warned my hubby that we may have to make her a yard off the spare stable, hoping it won't come to that but am prepared if it does.  I live on very hard clay and rocks, which is great for the horses feet. They also walk on my driveway which is bitumen, which helps keep them trim. All my horses have really hard feet, not easy to trim but I have taken my 4yo TB mare up Brigadoon hill (very hard and rocky) barefoot and she didn't bat an eyelid, all the other horses were shod.

Hope Rani stays laminitis free.
