Second Request Trim Evaluation and Hoof Markup requests
Hello,
If possible I would love to get feedback on my trim and possible markups done on my mare's feet. I have posted new hind hoof pictures under Feb 19th date and the other hoof pics are under Feb 17th date. I also have posted videos of hermoving at liberty in the message thread. I hope to start riding her at the end of March so really want to make sure her feet are ok. I feel her heels are high and need to come down. Hoping for feedback! Thanks!!!! -- Heather August 5, 2017, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada Riosa Photos |

Hi Heather,
You made a start on getting the toes backed up - still a long way to go to get the breakover back in the correct location. Wall flares need to come in more as well. You can probably run the rasp across the heels a couple of times but not too much yet - concentrate on getting those toes back first. -- Lavinia and George Too Nappi, George and Dante Over the Bridge Jan 05, RI ECIR Support Team |

Hi Lavinia,
yeah figured toes need to come back more. Is there anyway you can mark up the sole pics to show me how far back. I know I shouldn't worry but afraid to overdue it! Being silly I know... just not 100% sure what the heck I am doing. What about the bars in the hinds. I think they still look high to me so was going to take them down a bit as well as the heels on the hinds. Will measure the collateral groovend not go lower than 15mm in the deepest part. She seems to have pretty good depth in the deepest part of her CG. For the flares I take these off from the outside right? There doesn't seem to be much wall thickness but I just take them off and not worry about this. Also want to fix my mustang roll as right now it isn't much of a roll:(. Been so bloody cold that I have been freezing trying to get her feet trimmed. But this weekendit looks nice so will get back at it. If you could provide a few markups it would be much appreciated! Sorry but still trying to learn! Also any comments on when I could maybe start her back in work or riding her? I realize I need to get these feet fixed up first for sure. One more thing, for the right heel height for her do I just go by the CG depth at the back and how comfortable she is to find the right height? Her fronts are awful high and was going to take them down 5mm and see how she is then maybe another 5mm until I get the CG depth to about 15mm or 1.5cms? Or thoughts? Thanks again!!!!! -- Heather August 5, 2017, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada Riosa Photos |
