Balancing TC Naturals Timothy Hay Balancer Cubes - Vermont Blend?

Robin

I have switch over to TC Naturals Timothy Hay Balancer Cubes for his emergency diet. He loves them! I hope that's not a bad thing - the tests on this sit appear to show it tests well below 10 ESC + Starch.

I want to balance his diet. He's currently getting the hay cubes + salt + vitamin E + flax seed + Laminox.

Would adding Vermont Blend be a good choice to balance minerals and make this a complete balanced diet?

Robin,

The Triple Crown Naturals Timothy Balance Cubes are balanced to themselves.  You only need to add salt, vitamin E and flax to them, no need for any other supplements to balance them. Do make sure you're feeding at a 3:4 ratio to hay (ie: if he was eating 5lbs of hay he should be eating 3.75lbs of cubes).

Robin,
The cubes are already minerally balanced. If feeding just these cubes, you would not need to add anything else to what you are already adding.
Also, the cubes are guaranteed to be max. 10% ESC and starch combined and they are usually less.

Hi Sherry,

Thank you for your response. The Vermont Blend has Amino Acids, Biotin and Prebiotics. So, I was thinking that could be beneficial for him. I think at a minimum I'd probably want to add something for his digestive system (gut & hind gut)? He was previously on Arenus Assure Guard, but was informed to take him off it due to the sugar levels.

Robin,

If he is not having problems there is no reason to supplement for gut. He definitely doesn't need Vermont Blend with the cubes.
