Xrays and trim photos

Kimberly

Was hoping someone could review my new photos of Mouse's trim from 7/6 and review xrays.  I am missing one x-ray waiting on the vet to send.  Thanks everyone.

Kimberly,

Please relabel these as described in the Wiki so we can tell them apart. Overall impression though is they look good.

Dr. Kellon and Kirsten, I have labeled them all with the YYYY-MM-DD, labeled the views, sorted by the correct sorting tab within the WIKI, and they are still out of order.  Not sure how to fix that.  I have xrays from 2017 and from May and July of this year.

Hi Kimberly,
You need to edit the actual file name.  For an example, one of your files has the name “IMG958069[2604].jpg“ and it appears that you have changed the Description.  The radiographs are all labeled “Mouse_Loveless_x” and that’s what needs to be changed.  The files are sorted on file name and the description is generally saved for additional information.

Does that help at all?  It should be a fairly easy cut and paste to fix them all.

Thanks Martha, I think I have it done correctly now.  Thanks for the hint of actually naming the photo not changing the description!  Sorry about missing that part.  Any opinions on how they look now in July?  Thanks much!!

I'm sure there are some adjustments that could be made (there always is!) but I would be very pleased with that trim if she was my horse.

There does appear to be a little medio-lateral imbalance on her LF (there is no dorsal photo of her RF so can't tell if it is also a bit wonky).  That means one side of the hoof wall is being left higher.  Usually you can tell  which one us high because it's the side that has the most flaring, which appears to be the medial wall.  This is extremely common.  You can doublecheck that by measuring collateral groove depths and seeing which side is deeper and should be lowered.
