Lavinia: Mark ups please: just trimmed yesterday.

Jean

Lavinia,

I trimmed Merlin yesterday. I had asked for advice 3 weeks ago, but I know there are horses  that are more acute than Merlin and need immediate attention.  He continues to be in his cloud boots 24/7. He has been having some tenderness ever since his capped elbow, which has flared up 3 times now. the last being about 3 weeks ago. He seems to be better on the tenderness aspect.  I have ordered Jiaogulan for him, since his sole remains thin. I should be starting that this week. I am certain more toe needs to come back, but I am getting leary on how far to come back. I do not want to get into live tissue.

Thank you in advance!!

Hi Jean,

I don't think you actually requested markups from Lavinia until now, and you did get some advise so I don't think anyone realized you were waiting.  The photos look good.  Only issue is this one is taken at a bit of an angle, which distorts the view.  You have time to redo it if you like.  It would be better to place your camera right on the ground, too.

More importantly, it looks a bit off centre.  Just make sure the camera lens on your phone is centred on the hoof if you do retake it.  I think with the phone standing upright, your camera lens must be quite a bit higher, which gives the impression that the phone is not right on the ground and we are looking down in all your dorsal and lateral photos.
