Dr Kellon: Should i give tetnus booster
Lori Ricigliano
Hi - The reason I’m hesitant is 2 years ago in late august I gave mya her 5 way vaccinations for the fall (not west Nile) and within 48 hours she foundered & this path we are on now is I feel because of it (the final nail in the coffin so to speak with her system was giving the vaccinations I believe ) . She wasn’t diagnosed as IR at that time but I should have seen the signs - slightly creasty neck & she was on thyroid powder.

Tetanus is typically the least likely to cause reactions. There is always a risk though when they are actively laminitic. If your trimmer follows the mark ups, you shouldn't be anywhere near live tissue but may uncover old blood.

Ok - I will err on the side of caution & not give it - we’ve come too far to have anything happen at this point . Thank you
