Changing the hay can make a difference in insulin as soon as the next meal, too. Either way, that's great news!

Yes, we are continuing the low s/s diet. We were able to source a grass hay, and we are just waiting for 2nd cutting of the same before testing and settling in for winter. I love the way you explain thoroughly, Sherry. But the only other change was Prascend, unless getting grass hay with no alfalfa (untested) has made a difference in this short amount of time. Remember I am a scientist and I watch all of the variables. So other than refusing to eat his supplements (some days are better than others) there are no changes to his diet.
Our ACTH retest is scheduled for September. So, it is here through this group of helpful people that I first learned recently that the hardness of the crest can be an indication of a laminitic episode about to happen. Isaac has always, all his life, had a large and hard crest. Isaac was started on Prascend in May and I noticed 2 weeks ago when I was brushing him that he no longer has a cresty neck! It is gone! I just had to make some noise about this! YAY! Something positive.
