stem cell patch
Suzy,
You have not seen results because you were not treating the PPID. The things you mentioned cannot be effective if there is untreated PPID. Because you started pergolide so late in the seasonal rise there is a good chance you won't be able to get good control until December or later. You are feeding two concentrated mineral products with no hay analysis. That is not only wasteful but also potentially counterproductive. Speak to your veterinarian about trying metformin. It might get your insulin below the danger zone. I would also use Jiaogulan. -- Eleanor in PA www.drkellon.com |

I am just saying the diet and herbs and amino acids and what not, I have not seen anything work.
The blood work is just insulin and ACTH. I just started him on the pergolide based on the September blood work. The diet is current except the addition of the APF to with the pergolide veil. He does not like the APF at all. The hay is from the previous test. I will be using different hay soon and will test when I get it. He is feeling some better now that he has been on the pergolide. I would like to make him more comfortable. He is still sore, hoof and body. I appreciate your help. -- Suzy. All I am saying is all the herbs and diet have not worked. What do you mean supplement is not appropriate? The mineral or the supplement I give to add the vitamin e and other herbs when I am giving. My case history does not show when I gave j herb and what not so it may look like I didn't try.
I tried these other things before I felt I needed to to do pergolide. I am sure I waited to long. I just added the most recent blood work done in September. All the vet wanted to do at this time was insulin and ACTH. If they are mixed together I don't know why. The case history form is difficult to navigate. The first block will not let me enter when I update so I have given up many times trying to update it but I really wanted to add this blood work. The first block acts like it is a photo and won't let me enter text. I sent you, Dr Kellon an email with blood results and it should be the same as what I entered. -- Suzy. Suzy,
I'm not sure what you mean by see no proof either. Pergolide, metformin, -flozin drugs are all proven to work. Diet control is also necessary. The supplement you are feeding is not appropriate. It looks like your insulin and ACTH numbers have been mixed together in the case history. -- Eleanor in PA www.drkellon.com |

HI Suzy
I may not be following you regarding "seeing no proof from anything" and not sure of your question or comment. Also, having trouble with your CH, specifically blood work report. Can you tell us about your testing in September? It appears it may have been TRH I am assuming he is laminitic, when you say he is getting more painful. Checking meds...you have listed he is on .5 mg of pergolide. Is that your starting dose, based on September meds? If that is your goal, he could very likely need more to control. If his PPID is out of control, his insulin is probably still out of control. Can you update his diet, or let us know if it is correct as listed? Do you have a current hay test? -- Nancy C in NH ECIR Moderator 2003 ECIR Group Inc. President/Treasurer 2021-2022 |

I see no proof from anything that is suppose to relieve pain or help IR and PPID. It is at the point now if the pergolide doesn't make a dramatic change Thor's future is very bleak.

The first thing to realize is that patents mean nothing when it comes to truth or effectiveness. Devices like this are not regulated by the FDA. The bottom line with everything like this is where is the proof? - not testimonials but solid, published, scientific proof.

Suzy- IOM, maybe you could research these patches and the companies who sell them. Like from FDA.gov and Pubmed.ncbi.min.nih.gov. Think of all the companies selling supplements/products and their claims of curing anything from hair growth, weight loss and all the way to curing cancer that are false, scams and potentially dangerous. It's the old buyer beware.

Suzy, Yes, I use Lifewave patches ie X39, lifewave, Aeon and Aculife. You can email me at heidi.reid45@.... I use lifewave patches on myself and animals. I have used patches on 2 horses. I got my riding coach using them on her horse and herself. I used them for pain and arthritis on my horses. I did use them on my ECIR horse but not for metabolic reasons, he transitioned this July. If I had another IR or Cushings horse, I would be trying X39 to see if they made a difference on ECIR. Heidi. Columbus, OH June 2014 Daiquiri (2022) Checkers (2018)
