Azeem seems to be recovering from a very disturbing period of hardly eating or drinking and periodic mild 
to moderate colic like laying down for fairly long times. He is 21+ years old, 15 hands, 830 lbs. or less on
weight tape.  He is back to eating a little, but still not a lot of hay, and he’s drinking again.

Here is a copy of a statement regarding the combo.  I do not know how to provide the link.  
"Jiaogulan and leucine (Dr. Kellon's protocol) are of help for some horses suffering from anhidrosis, for others you have to deal with it with good management as they risk heat stroke."  
If you enter Jiaogulan and leucine in the search bar with anhidrosis you will find it.  I dont think its a guarantee to work tho.
My boarder stopped eating this summer, I thought he was dying, he looked so bad.  Vet took his temp it was over 103.  He has anhidrosis. and we are in Phoenix AZ.
I had to hose him every 30 min, squeegee him so he wasn't in a blanket of hot water and have in front of a fan. 
We finally got 2 industrial evap coolers in the barn and with the misters and another fan, got the temp in the barn down to 84. 
Once his temp came down below 102 he immediately started to eat.
For fast acting cooling I also sponged his jugular area, inside both front and back legs with alcohol and that worked amazingly as well. 
If its hot and he isn't sweating he could develop heat stroke. Take his temperature rectally and if it is above 102 he needs more than supplements to help regulate his body temp

The mill run in the Equus would give me pause. One component: Wheat mill run consists of leftover particles of bran, germ and flour produced during the milling process. You may be able to get more info -- like how much in a serving -- from the company.

Most of us use Vit E human caps in oil. Some horses with difficulty absorbing (shown via blood testing) have responded to Elevate.

I agree the wheat mill run is not appropriate and you should use pure psyllium husk, wet before feeding. It's really slimy and disgusting but they eat it!  The problem with vitamin E in oil capsules is they may be expired, or exposed to conditions that will denature the E. I prefer Liquid E in oil https://www.uckele.com/liquid-e-pint.html and have used this product for about 30 years. Elevate is fine too, or Emcelle, but they cost more.

There is no guaranteed treatment for anhidrosis, including the Jiaogulan and leucine. It's a condition where we really are totally clueless as to the mechanism or treatment. Aggressive cooling as Lesley described in the best approach.

The analysis in Files shows that Equus Psyllium Pellets contained 23+% starch. That is NOT SAFE for IR/EMS horses.

It's possible the product has changed since 2013. The packaging was a case study in misdirection. My bucket had a green neon label stating "NO SUGAR." It didn't say "NO STARCH."
