Kimberly hay - was New Bloodwork and hay analysis
Yes, the 441 iron is a big concern. You should retest the hay after either vigorously shaking a flake and/or dunking a flake several times to see how the iron changes. Do whatever you will be able to do consistently going forward.

I have other hay I can feed (that you balanced for me this week). Is this what could cause high insulin?

If your minerals aren't balanced to that high iron, then yes, it can worsen IR, esp fed long-term. But that iron is nearly at the toxic limit of 500 ppm and in my experience iron has a wide range of variability in the same hay, so you could exceed that 500 ppm upper limit in some hay meals.

thanks for the quick responses. We have other hay to feed until it can be re-tested. The hay has been mixed with other "safe" (low ESC) hay and has only been here for about a month. It was a first time purchase from this grower until we could cut our own hay. Hopefully no damage done.

If you can mix it with another low iron hay, that would help to lower the overall iron. But you will still need yo add trace minerals to balance out the iron.
