editing case history
Hi Stephanie
In addition to Sherry's comments, please check the following: Have you saved your updated copy under a new name, as Kirsten mentioned? Most of us change the date, for example, "Indy Case History March 2022". Did you delete the old pdf case history from your case history folder? As Kirsten says, you may not be able to upload the updated case history form if it has the same name as the old one. What is the suffix of the updated copy you have on your computer? For example, ".doc" or ".docx" or "pdf" or "rtf" and so on. -- Maxine and Indy (PPID) and Dangles (PPID) Canberra, Australia 2010 https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/files/Maxine%20and%20Indy%20and%20Dangles

Hi Stephanie, You should be editing the original version of your case history (in a .doc or .pages form) on your device, not editing a PDF unless you have PDF editing software and a good deal of patience Once you edit the original document (whether as a MS Word or Pages document) you save it as something like "Case History Bella Vita 10_22_2022" on your device in the same folder as your original case history so you may now have the original and updated version as a document as well as the original version as a PDF. The new version you then save or print to PDF to convert to a PDF format. THAT version is what you will upload the case history sub group.

Thank you Trisha and Maxine - this is the url I have:
Bella Vita Case History revised.pdf Bella Vita Case History revised.pdf and it is on my OneDrive account through my school district - is that why it won't work? I see a "home" button, arrows, page view, add text, draw, highlight - but I don't see where I can choose to turn it into a pdf - it says "pdf" on the end of the document. When I open the document that is supposed to be my case history from the ecir group, I can't make the pen icon edit anything. I have edited the one open on my computer that is the original and downloaded it and when I upload, it does not save. I've read all of the instructions over and over. I am on the saved copy so I just don't know what is wrong. What else should I try please? -- Stephanie in Maryland 2022 https://ecir.groups.io/ |

You may also have to remove the old version from the website before you try to upload the new version, OR save the new version with the date in the file name. This wouldn't be the first time there were glitches with loading files that have the same name.

Stephanie, unless you have the appropriate software, you can’t edit the pdf. You’ll need to edit the version you saved on your device (in Pages or Word)—most of us save it each time with a new date in the title—then convert that updated version to a new pdf. Then you can upload the new pdf with the current date to your case history folder. Please delete the old pdf from your case history folder so that there’s only one version in there at any time (otherwise it gets confusing). Does that make sense? Hi Stephanie. When you have a pdf document you have to change it back to a version that allows you to edit and add information. Here is a link that should help you.
https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/wiki#Case-History-Help When you upload your case history to this system, you need to change it back to PDF format...However, on your computer save a copy in the other version that allows you to edit. When you need to update the CH in the future, don't download the PDF from here- go to the one on your computer that is the saved copy. Make your changes and upload it as a PDF to your ECIR folder. In the end, you will have two PDF's one old and one new. At that point DELETE the old PDF from the ECIR folder. If you get stuck, I am here all day today and can assist. -- Trisha DePietro Aug 2018 NH Dolly and Hope's Case Histories Dolly's Photos Hope's Photos Primary Responder |

Hi,
I am having trouble with editing - when I download the document as a pdf, there are no icons that allow me to edit it. However, I have the first version open from when I first filled it out and after making changes and trying to upload it again as revised, none of the changes remained. I've looked for instructions - can someone please help me? Thank you so much, -- Stephanie in Maryland 2022 https://ecir.groups.io/ |
