ppid banamine used prophylactic for vaccines
LJ, I’ve heard the same advice with respect to people so, if I get a flu vaccination, I wait until several hours after the vaccination to take any ibuprofen. Sometimes that’s the next day and sometimes I just skip it. Same with Covid. You want your body to mount an appropriate immune response before tempering it. I am not an MD, a vet, nor do I have Cass’s titer testing experience but it makes sense to me, a scientifically thinking person.

LJ, one of the things about allergic reactions is that past freedom from a reaction isn't a complete assurance there will never be a future reaction. That's not to say banamine needs to be given in every case, but I do understand the practice in a big barn. I can see a subsequent fever being missed until the horse stops eating. I've missed a fever myself after I gave a single dose of banamine with a vaccination and didn't repeat it the next day until I realized she was throwing off heat like an open oven.
As for the theoretical decrease in immunity, for about 4 or 5 years, I've been giving banamine and benadryl at the time of core vaccinations to my vaccine reactor. Subsequent titers have measured plenty of antibodies for those disease that have titers available. JME, nothing more. -- Cass, Sonoma Co., CA 2012 ECIR Group Moderator Cayuse and Diamond Case History Folder Cayuse Photos Diamond Photos |

I forgot to post the study that prompted me questioning the use of banamine etc alongside vaccines
