I uploaded a pic from 2019-11-01 for reference to his coat color. I think his overall color looks very similar.

Thank you Dr. K and Lavinia for your responses.
Falki is getting a custom mineral mix from Mad barn. It is not unusual that his "summer" coat is dark brown but his "winter" coat seems to have blonde highlights. Much appreciated. -- Connie Proceviat 2013 Manitoba, Canada Case History: https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/files/Connie%20and%20Falki Falki Photo Album: https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/album?id=254861 |

HI Connie,
Glad to hear Falki is doing well. It's always amazing how much the photos help make clear what is happening. You're correct that the trim has gotten away from you: feet have run forward quite a bit, so toes need to move way back, heels as well. Wall flare all around, tho the lateral walls seem to be worse, which may indicate there are some medio-lateral imbalance issue. Hard to say for sure as you can't see the coronary bands due to his hair is obscuring the coronary bands. -- Lavinia, George Too, Calvin (PPID) and Dinky (PPID/IR) Nappi, George and Dante Over the Bridge Jan 05, RI Moderator ECIR |

I agree with your trim assessment but wonderful that he's feeling that well! Is he getting a mineral mix now? His coat looks bleached in that October photo.

Good Afternoon,
As per Dr. Kellon's recommendation, I've uploaded recent hoof pics (along with blood and hay analysis) This is the first time I have taken photos in quite a while. They are super helpful to point out (I believe) that his hooves can still be taken back further and his heels ideally could be more upright. I will work on that. Falki is doing very well. I put him together with the other gelding, Loki once daily so they are encouraged to move around more. They run around together and have fun. We are now around freezing temperatures and continuing to get colder this week so I will begin wrapping and booting with wool socks this evening. He is still on Metformin so I plan is to retest insulin again in December. Any recommendations would be appreciated. -- Connie Proceviat 2013 Manitoba, Canada Case History: https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/files/Connie%20and%20Falki Falki Photo Album: https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/album?id=254861 |
