Hyaluronic acid IV vs Oral dosing for Dolly
Trisha DePietro
Hi all. I saw some improvement with 3 months of IV Hyaluronic acid for arthritis. Its very costly.... So, would it be worth trying the oral HA? and could I get the same results? The J-herb and the AAKG are on board now for the vasospasms and legs are wrapped everynight for 50 degrees or less +boots with pads.
I check her medial-lateral balance and trim appropriately as needed for arthritis comfort too.
She also gets arnica cream to her stifles and hocks on back legs, it seems to help as well with overall comfort.
PPID/IR are well controlled at 3 Prascend a day.

Yes, oral HA can work too. Make sure it is high molecular weight. Instructions for making a gel here https://mybesthorse.com/info_ha.html . Gel does work better IME. Yes to the Arnica cream. My favorite is Dulac Arnica 35. You may need to apply 2 or 3 times daily for best results. Focus on the inside of the joint in the stifles. For hocks, clip the hair across the front and outside/lateral of the joint and focus your cream there. Arnica can also be used under hock sweats (Neoprene) which can be very helpful when it's cold overnight.

Oral Gel - and try to give it separate from feeding.
