Update on Schimpie’s exam at New Bolten Center for her exercise intolerance…after a complete lameness and sport horse medicine work up a BAL and scope were done which revealed mild equine asthma, as well as a muscle biopsy which revealed 3 different muscle myopathies- pssm2 , MFM, and VEM. ..it’s being recommended to consult with an equine nutritionist to make a diet plan for these issues as well as adding CoQ10 , and KER’s MFM pellet , and giving a liquid Vitamin E at 5,000IU …luckily the diet is pretty good for the most part beings that it’s already low starch /sugar. They are now recommending to steam or soak her hay and adding the supplement Aleira made by Arenus or EO3 made by KER to help with the asthma along with the normal recommendations for managing a horse with IAD.
