I have not seen any evidence that either of these will lower insulin.

Activated charcoal has it's benefit in hind gut induced laminitis from feedroom break-in scenario.  It is common for some professionals not to recognize that metabolic laminitis is different, even though it is 80-90% of the cause of all laminitis cases.

See lectures here that describe the differences and what protocols are needed.

After reading, I would forward them to your vet and your nutritionist. All of the proceedings have significant information, but I'm guessing you and your team on the ground can most benefit from these two.

Download is free.

Make sure you saw Dr Kellon's comments in previous response to you.

Hi Kimberly. I found this interesting article on a google search https://char-grow.com/biochar-vs-charcoal-vs-activated-carbon  --
Basically, biochar is intended as a soil ammendment.
Activated charcoal has absorption properties- we use it frequently in human medicine to absorb ingested toxins.
Charcoal for the grill is made in a different way, with petroleum added.
All three are made with various degrees of oxygen added to the pyrolysis processing and the biomass used is a different substance.
The only one I have ever used in humans or animals is the activated charcoal. It has the ability to attract and trap molecules on its surface area...thus reducing the amount of poison that is able to bind to the cells and be absorbed and reducing the illness the poison may cause.

Thank you ladies. I will read thru all of this.  My vet is clear on all of this and we are no longer getting input from this nutritionist.
