Terrible at searches
I am trying to find something I saw somewhere that can guide me to determine what work level (light work, moderate work, etc) and the feeding guide for this.
I am certain I have seen this somewhere. For recovered laminitic PPID and IR horse. -- Kandace K Rocky Mountains, Alberta, Oct 2020 K and J (over the rainbow bridge) and now T https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/files/Kandace%20J%20and%20K https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/album?id=259062 |

Hi Kandace,
I did a search in our Files. Zis it? https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/files/5%20Core%20Diet/2.%20Feeding%20Recovered%20Laminitics%20When%20Back%20in%20Work.pdf -- Lorna in Eastern Ontario 2002 |

This one I had found, Lorna and I printed it off as it is a very good reminder about not getting too carried away. The one more specifically outlined how much work would be considered moderate from light and even heavy work load. Over the winter, I am not exceeding an hour of riding time and not working up too much heat but even last fall I was riding more than two hours, hills, trotting and etc... Maybe it was somewhere else. This one certainly works for the guide for protein as my hay is pretty low this year.

Hi Kandace,
Not sure if we have that specific info posted in our group but we use the NRC definitions for level of work. Here's an example (scroll to the end of the article): https://ker.com/equinews/feeding-horses-based-work-level/ And another: https://thehorse.com/156680/work-level-and-feeding-horses/ -- Kirsten and Shaku (EMS + PPID) and Snickers (EMS) - 2019 Kitimat, BC, Canada ECIR Group Moderator Shaku's Photo Album Snickers' Case History Snickers' Photo Album |
