Pergolide dose

Hi. I’m getting ready to titrate my Pergolide dose down from the fall dose & then do spring labs. Diana was on 5mg during the fall & her ACTH was 43 pg/ml (Cornell). This fall was the first time her ACTH has been out of range on the 5mg . Her non-seasonal rise dose has been 3mg. Should I leave her at the 5mg until the seasonal rise again or try a different dose? Need some advice. Thanks in advance!

Hi Beth,

If you want to know if the 5mg is controlling her outside of the rise I'd test her while she's on that dose and see where you're at. You could then test during the rise to see if it's enough to keep her well controlled then.

I'd leave her on it, then increase for the next rise.  By the time you fuss around with different doses and blood testing once or twice you might not be saving any money.  You know she needs at least 5mg for next fall, and then some.
