Dr. Kellon- iodine question

I’ve tested a new batch of hay, Nancy is balancing it for me and a question came up. In November 2022 that batch of hay had high protein & nitrates and you recommended that Flame get 8mg of iodine to protect his thyroid. This hay has lower protein & hopefully lower nitrates. Should he still be on that higher iodine amount or back to normal amount? Thanks in advance! -- NV Oct 2013 Flame Pictures |

I just uploaded the hay analysis results into the photos section of my file with Flame. I am on my cell phone. I’m not near a computer right now so that’s the best way. I could do it at the moment. Thanks!

The lower crude protein is no guarantee nitrate is low. You should test nitrate.

They still have the sample & will test nitrate. I should have result in a day or so. Thanks!

Nitrate % is 0.02, PPM nitrate- nitrogen is 56. Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks!
