Dear ECIR Group Members ~

PLEASE NOTE: If you reply to this email, your post will appear on the groups.io forum. Please look for any response there.

As previously announced, the groups.io Case History subgroup will become READ ONLY on Saturday, April 1, 2023.  All new histories and updates to existing histories will then need to be filed on the new site.

MEMBERS WITH EXISTING CASE HISTORIES may file current updates on groups.io through tomorrow, March 31, 2023. Forms are still available if you need them in the groups.io  CH subgroup files.

After Friday, March 31, 2023 the groups.io CH subgroup will be open for “read only” archives,. There will be no access for new uploads. Members will be able to view existing histories. This significant library will not be going away, and can be referred to when input from the group is needed. From April 1, however, all updates will need to be filed on the new site.

From April 1, 2023 forward - please join the new Case History site at https://ch.ecirhorse.org. to update your information. Look for two emails from Case History staff that may be in your spam folder.

Once you are approved, open a file for your equine via Equine Basic Information. Please add labs and medications to give a two-year history on the new site. Also add weight/ BCS, diet, exercise, forage, feeds — any section that will help give a current view of your equine.

  •  A two-year view is what Dr. Kellon and volunteers have requested to best advise caregivers.
  • If a longer-term view is needed, your older history in the groups io CH “library” for more perspective.

More info here:  https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory

MEMBERS WHO NEED TO START A NEW CASE HISTORY please go to the new site to be approved. You must be a member of ECIR groups.io. Here is the link:  https://ch.ecirhorse.org/

Scroll down to the green Membership Request button, fill our the PROFILE info, and you will be approved fairly quickly if you are an existing ECIR groups.io member.

Once you have requested membership, you will receive two emails. Look for them in your spam folder. Once approved, enroll your equine’s Basic Information and bookmark the page so you can find it more easily. Add additional info as you can.

Guidance for use of the new site is in the main forum Wiki. Many members just dove in and added their info. Taking at look at least some areas, like loading HOOF photos, is recommended. Look for !! LEARNING CURVE  as a flag in the Wiki guides.

This is a good place to start for general info: https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/wiki/33272

Many thanks to all members who have joined the new site, and especially those who have started the nearly 150 histories that now reside there.

For the horses.

Nancy C, This is Sue Shaner. I have an existing account here and tried to sign up on the new site too many times with the wrong password (do we sign up on the new site with our current email and password or do I start over as a new member...this is confusing)

So now I am locked out of even getting to the new site and was told to contact you/your office. Please advise me as to next steps.

Thanks, Sue

Hi Sue

You are indeed a member of the new case history site. You enrolled with your gmail account address.

Steps to correct lock-out are in the Wiki Case History FAQS https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/wiki/33275

The above has worked for most in this stuation. If these steps do not, we need to know the exact steps you took, and the device(s) and browser(s) you are using.

Fingers crossed.
