ECIR Group NEW Case History site will be open Wednesday March 1, 2023

Nancy C

Dear ECIR Group Members ~

I am beyond happy to announce that the ECIR Group will open the new ecirhorse Case History site to all ECIR Group Members, this Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

This chapter has been decades in the making and I am dancing in my seat.

What you need to know:

Two sites - groups.io Case History subgroup and ecirhorse.org Case History App — will be run simultaneously for a bit.

MEMBERS WHO NEED TO START A NEW CASE HISTORY will go to the new site.

BEST NEWS: You don’t need any forms.

MEMBERS WITH EXISTING CASE HISTORIES filed on groups.io Case History subgroup prior to March 1, 2023 may file updates on groups.io until March 31, 2023. Forms are still available if you need them in the groups.io  CH subgroup files. Or you may chose to immediately start updates on the new site.

After March 31, 2023 the groups.io site will be open for “read only”, meaning there will be no new uploads but members can view their histories. This significant library will not be going away, and can be referred to when input from the group is needed for your equine. At that point, however, updates will need to be filed on the new site.

All members are encouraged to start their updates on the new site asap.

Everyone needs to be approved for the new site. You must be a member of ECIR groups.io. Here is the link:  https://ch.ecirhorse.org/ Bookmark and save this link somewhere on your device(s).

Once you have requested membership, you will receive two emails. Look for them in your spam folder. Volunteers must approve all members and this may not be immediate.  Your internet speed may also play a role.

Once approved, enroll your equine’s Basic Information and bookmark the page so you can find it more easily.

Guidance for use of the new site is in the main forum Wiki. Many Early Adopter members just dove in and added their info. Taking at look at least some areas, like loading hoof photos, is recommended. Look for !! LEARNING CURVE  as a flag in the Wiki guides.

This is a good place to start for general info: https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/wiki/33272

Amending your auto-signature. When you are ready to have members and volunteers view your Case History, find your equine in the Case History List, copy the url and put it in your auto-signature. Note my example below. Keep your existing groups.io history link in your signature as well.

Many volunteers have worked very hard to bring you this project, which will continue to grow and be refined. Each individual equine history will bring more information to help those who come along in the future, and give the ECIR Group more information to contribute to the equine community to benefit metabolic equines.

A million thank you’s to everyone who contributed to this moment over the years, starting with our founder Robin, and Dr. Kellon and continuing through Amberlee, Patti, LeeAnne, Early Adopters, dozens of Support Team members over the years who have helped you get your history properly placed, and our web developer Sullivan and Wolf. Many have understood how important this is, including members who have supplied their information. It is truly a group effort.

I apologize if the link is right under my nose but I don't see where to go to request admission to the new C.H site. I clicked the highlighted link above that seams like it is it but it goes to a sign in page that says my info is wrong when I enter it.
