ECIR Group NEW Case History site__Library and New Site changes

Nancy C

Dear ECIR Group Members ~

Just a reminder: The groups.io Case History subgroup will become READ ONLY on April 1, 2023.  All new histories and updates to existing histories will need to be filed on the new site.

MEMBERS WITH EXISTING CASE HISTORIES filed on groups.io Case History subgroup prior to March 1, 2023, may file updates on groups.io through March 31, 2023. Forms are still available if you need them in the groups.io  CH subgroup files.

After March 31, 2023 the groups.io CH subgroup will be open for “read only” archives, meaning there will be no access for new uploads. Members will be able to view existing histories. This significant library will not be going away, and can be referred to when input from the group is needed. From April 1, however, all updates will need to be filed on the new site.

NOTE: You may enroll your equine and start updates on the new site now. No need to wait.

TO UPDATE A HISTORY NOW HOUSED ON GROUPS.io please join the new Case History site at https://ch.ecirhorse.org Look for two emails from Case History staff that may be in your spam folder. Once you are approved, open a file for your equine via Equine Basic Information. Please add labs and medications to give a two-year history on the new site. Also add weight/ BCS, diet, exercise, forage, feeds — any section that will help give a current view of your equine.

  •  A two-year view is what Dr. Kellon and volunteers have requested to best advise caregivers.
  • If a longer-term view is needed, your older history in the groups io CH “library” for more perspective.

More info here:  https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory

MEMBERS WHO NEED TO START A NEW CASE HISTORY please go to the new site to be approved. You must be a member of ECIR groups.io. Here is the link:  https://ch.ecirhorse.org/ Bookmark and save this link somewhere on your device(s). Scroll down to the green Membership Request button, fill our the PROFILE info, and you will be approved fairly quickly if you are an existing ECIR groups.io member.

Once you have requested membership, you will receive two emails. Look for them in your spam folder. Once approved, enroll your equine’s Basic Information and bookmark the page so you can find it more easily. Add additional info as you can.

Guidance for use of the new site is in the main forum Wiki. Many members just dove in and added their info. Taking at look at least some areas, like loading HOOF photos, is recommended. Look for !! LEARNING CURVE  as a flag in the Wiki guides.

This is a good place to start for general info: https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/wiki/33272

Many thanks to the 202 members who have joined the new site, and especially those who have started the 130 histories that now reside there.

For the horses.

Hi, Nancy-

I just tried to input a handful of images and even though I input the date of the image what gets listed after submitting is 2023. Then I have to delete the whole listing again and start over. Do you know why this isn’t working and I don’t see a way to just edit the date after submitted.

Thank you,

Shera Felde

HI Shera

The link above is to your Documents and Images (D&I) section which only you can see.  The link to your CH that the volunteers and members can see is this https://ch.ecirhorse.org/case-history.php?id=59

Please update your auto signature to add your new CH link. Go here https://ecir.groups.io/g/main/editsub
Don't forget to hit save.

As to your question about dates, this is from the CH Wiki info guide

Date Picker:
How dates are entered is primarily controlled by your browser with input from your device. In some browsers the calendar appears when you click on the date window.  You can then go past the calendar with your curser to highlight and type in your month, day and year. Android has unique difficulties as shown by our testers. Smaller devices will have their unique functional differences. Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera) will be the easiest to use when entering large amounts of data.

You should be able to find a way to fix this absolute default to 2023, but you are correct that once uploaded the date cannot be changed. Some answers to your Date Picker function can be found by googling your device and browser info for answers. If you continue to have a problem, we'd need to know exact steps you took, and your device and browser info.

Just a reminder, you can give exact date info in the description window which can be updated at any time. For example  -Dorsal-2022.12.14 LF dorsal
