Fecals say Pabatsa is a low grade Strongyles shedder

My vet just texted me with Pabatsa’s fecal results. He’s a low grade Strongyles shedder. Which wormer will work best for him. My vet suggested Quest because, “ it’s the only warmer that gets rid of encysted Strongyles but I’m not comfortable with it.
He’s now 26. He’s ridden/exercised in and out of an arena 5x’s/week. Recent CBC is all good. His symptoms of Cushing’s on 5.5 mg CP is topline loss and he’s a bit ribby. No neck crest and no bulging above his eyes. Laura,
Your other option is to deworm him with ivermectin three times with three weeks between treatments. The will get the larvae as they emerge from the encysted state and kill them before they get to egg-laying age. For my information is Quest a wormer that’s not recommended here? And I remember that years ago I used Strongid granules. Is Strongid not as effective as Ivermectin? Quest is fine but it will kill them all at once. The 3 dose ivermectin is a more gentle way to do it if they have a large load. There is a lot of resistance to Strongid.
